About

I’m a physics teacher at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, FL.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Education, both from the University of Notre Dame. I have been teaching since the fall of 1999, and have been teaching using modeling since the fall of 2012.  I try to share how I use this powerful pedagogy in a 1:1 environment.  In the fall of 2013, the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association named me their educator of the year. If you like, you can read my acceptance speech.

Please realize that this blog reflects my personal opinions and does not necessarily reflect those of Bishop Kenny High School or the Diocese of St. Augustine.

  1. I really like what you are doing and have several questions about how to use Modeling in an AP classroom. Could you please email me when you get a chance? lvanloon@gmail.com

I would love to hear your thoughts, please leave a reply
